Ray Smietanka - Of Counsel

vCardIconSmRay serves the firm as of counsel in complex cases involving federal criminal and administrative law and procedure, bankruptcy, crime victims compensation,  and  interstate governmental relations. 

Following his graduation from law school, Ray worked in various capacities for the House Judiciary Committee for 31 years,  where he served under both Democratic and Republican Chairs: Peter Rodino (D-NJ), Jack Brooks (D-TX) Henry Hyde (R-IL) and F. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI) While with the Judiciary Committee, he specialized in bankruptcy reform, as well as numerous legislative issues involving Presidential and judicial impeachment, the federal death penalty, crime victims compensation and oversight of the United States Department of Justice.
